A cannabis lounge can sound like a simple idea: a place to sit, perhaps have a drink, and consume cannabis. In Nevada, the details matter. The state licenses cannabis consumption lounges, but local rules also apply, and the rules shape what a visitor can expect inside. Here is how to read the licence picture and the house rules before you go. [\[1\]](https://ccb.nv.gov/faq/)[\[2\]](https://www.leg.state.nv.us/nac/NAC-678D.html)

Two kinds of state licence

Nevada recognizes retail and independent cannabis consumption lounges. A retail lounge must be attached or immediately adjacent to an adult-use cannabis store. An independent lounge is separate from a cannabis sales facility. The state’s Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) says retail lounge applicants must own a licensed, operating cannabis store; independent lounges have a different eligibility route. [\[1\]](https://ccb.nv.gov/faq/)

A state licence is only part of the picture. The CCB says local jurisdictions may impose their own restrictions, including limits or moratoriums. Clark County’s licensing information, for example, describes local requirements for cannabis establishments outside incorporated cities, including a state CCB licence and zoning approval. “Las Vegas” can mean the city or the wider metro area, so check the exact address and jurisdiction instead of assuming one set of local approvals applies everywhere. How to check a lounge

The CCB’s public licensee page provides an active-license list and a separate map of consumption lounges. Its list is marked current as of September 1, 2026, and names DAZED!, SOCIETY and SMOKE AND MIRRORS among the listed lounges. Treat that page as a useful starting point, then confirm the venue’s current status and address before making plans. [\[4\]](https://ccb.nv.gov/list-of-licensees/)

A listing confirms the state’s license information; it does not tell you every detail of a visit. Check the venue’s own current information for opening hours, reservations, accepted payment, accessibility and any event-specific conditions. Nevada rules require lounges to post their operating hours, and sales generally stop 30 minutes before closing unless the lounge operates 24 hours a day. Rules you may notice inside

Expect age verification. Nevada regulations require staff to check and authenticate a government-issued photo ID before allowing access or selling lounge products. The law prohibits entry by anyone under 21. Staff must also refuse use or consumption by someone showing visible signs of overconsumption of an intoxicant. [\[2\]](https://www.leg.state.nv.us/nac/NAC-678D.html)[\[5\]](https://www.leg.state.nv.us/division/legal/lawlibrary/nrs/NRS-678D.html)

The products and where they can go are controlled, too. Lounges may sell single-use or ready-to-consume cannabis products, and Nevada rules prohibit those products from being taken out of the lounge. A retail lounge also has rules for handling cannabis purchased at its attached store. So do not assume a product bought elsewhere can be brought in, or that an unfinished item can go home with you; ask the venue what it accepts before you arrive. Consumption must take place in designated areas and out of public view. Indoor smoking or inhalation must be confined to a separate designated room. Lounges must post notices about the age limit, designated consumption areas, impaired driving, firearms and the prohibition on alcohol, tobacco and nicotine use. Nevada rules also require free water for consumers. [\[2\]](https://www.leg.state.nv.us/nac/NAC-678D.html)[\[5\]](https://www.leg.state.nv.us/division/legal/lawlibrary/nrs/NRS-678D.html)

A practical visit checklist

Before setting out, verify the lounge on the CCB list, confirm the address’s local jurisdiction, and check the venue’s hours and entry instructions. Bring government-issued photo ID. Once there, follow posted signs and staff directions, ask before carrying in any product, and plan not to leave with cannabis purchased or served inside. The simplest way to avoid a surprise is to treat the state’s rules as the baseline and the venue’s current instructions as part of the visit.
