What 420.camp is

A legal-first cannabis wiki and map for travellers and locals. For a country or a city it answers three questions — is cannabis legal here, where can it legally be bought, and where can it legally be consumed — and lists the venues that exist there: dispensaries, pharmacies, coffeeshops and cannabis social clubs. 420.camp does not sell cannabis and is not a marketplace; nothing can be ordered through the site.

420.camp is built and edited by a small team.

How a legal summary is made

  1. Official sources first. A rule is written from the government or court text that sets it — a ministry page, the statute, a published judgment — and the source is cited on the page. Sources are ranked by trust tier, and a summary shows the tier of what it relies on.
  2. Dated. Every published rule carries the date a person last checked it against its source, and the date it is due to be checked again. Both are printed on the page and in its structured data. Where a country page shows only a practical "how to buy" summary, that summary carries its own verification date.
  3. Unknown is never yes. If we have not confirmed a rule for a place, the page says so. We do not fill a gap with a neighbour's law or a guess.
  4. Buying and consuming are separate. A country where cannabis can legally be bought is not one where it can be smoked in the street, and a decriminalised country usually has no legal way to buy at all. The pages keep those apart.

How a venue gets listed

Listings start from public directory data and from owners who add their own venue. A listing is marked "not yet verified" until one of three things has happened: the owner has claimed and confirmed it, its licence has been checked, or its details have been confirmed against an official source. That badge is shown on the page; it is not removed by time passing.

Owners edit their own listing — description, hours, menu, photos, deals — and every change goes live at once but is queued for a moderator, who can revert it. Software agents draft corrections (a missing website, changed hours, a closed venue) as proposals; nothing an agent proposes is applied until a person approves it. Photos are kept only with their source and attribution, and a photo an owner has not confirmed rights to is not shown as theirs.

A venue's description is written in English by the owner or our editors; the other languages are machine translations of that text, marked as such on the page and replaced whenever the English is rewritten. A translation an owner writes by hand is kept as theirs.

Reviews are written by signed-in visitors under their own account, can be edited with the history kept, and owners may reply. We do not import third-party ratings into our own score, and a venue with no reviews shows none rather than a number.

Corrections

If a rule, a date or a listing is wrong, write to the editors with the page URL. Corrections to legal summaries are made against a source, and the review date on the page moves when they are. hello@420.camp

What this is not

Plain-language summaries are not legal advice. Laws change, local rules differ from national ones, and a page can be out of date between two reviews — check the cited source before acting on it.
