Where to buy weed legally
Legal cannabis is sold through very different channels depending on where you are — adult-use dispensaries, pharmacies, coffeeshops or members-only cannabis social clubs. This guide shows exactly where each model applies, who is allowed to buy, and links the verified venues on our map. Buying legally isn't the same as being allowed to smoke in public — we keep those separate and honest.
The four ways cannabis is sold legally
🏪 Adult-use dispensaries
Walk-in retail for anyone 21+ (or 18/19). Found across legal US states, Canada and Thailand. The simplest place to buy if you're a visitor.
💊 Pharmacies
Medical cannabis by prescription (most of Europe), or — in Uruguay — adult-use sales to registered residents only.
☕ Coffeeshops
The Netherlands' tolerated model: sold openly to adults, tourists included, under strict quantity limits.
🧑🤝🧑 Cannabis social clubs
Members-only, non-commercial clubs in Spain and Malta. You must join in advance — they cannot legally sell to walk-in tourists.

Frequently asked
Where can I legally buy weed?
Legal cannabis retail exists in parts of the US and Canada (adult-use dispensaries), the Netherlands (coffeeshops, tolerated), Spain and Malta (members-only cannabis social clubs), Uruguay (pharmacies for residents), Germany (clubs and pharmacy medical), Thailand (licensed shops) and a growing list of others. 420.camp shows the exact rule and verified venues for each place.
Can tourists buy cannabis?
It depends entirely on the place. Tourists can buy in Dutch coffeeshops and licensed Thai shops, but Spanish and Maltese clubs require membership and cannot legally recruit tourists on the street. In Uruguay only residents can buy. Always check the local rule first.
Is buying weed the same as being allowed to smoke it?
No. In many places you can buy legally but public consumption is still banned — you must use it in a private residence or a licensed lounge. 420.camp lists where consumption is genuinely permitted separately from where you can buy.
420.camp is a legal-information wiki and directory. We don't sell cannabis. Rules change — each location page shows official sources and a review date. Never carry cannabis across a border, even between two legal countries.
