Coffeeshops in Maastricht

Start with the right local source

The government’s controlled-supply experiment requirements say the residence criterion applies in participating border municipalities, including Maastricht. A foreign visitor should check this before travelling to a shop; an attractive menu does not establish eligibility. [1]

Open the Maastricht catalogue to compare addresses. Use the map or nearest-venues option for the journey, then check the current information for the premises you selected.

Before setting off

If you live in the Netherlands, ask the selected shop which valid ID and proof of residence it accepts. Confirm these documents and the address before leaving.

• Match the exact address, not only the business name.
• Check the opening hours for the day of the visit.
• Contact the venue if an access condition or the listed service is unclear.

Can a shop recommendation remove the residence requirement?

Check the government rule and your eligibility first. A listing, review or referral does not override a residency requirement.

If the information does not match

Save the official source and the venue’s reply. Use the listing’s correction option for an incorrect address or hours. Read the local purchase and consumption dimensions separately; this visit guide helps you choose and verify a next step, while the linked rules explain its conditions.
